An Ode To Fear
An Ode To Fear
You ruled the world, had us bound and gagged
But you didn’t count on my being ‘bad’
Boldly challenging your authority
I couldn’t take your word as rote
When I saw its core as mirrors and smoke
False Evidence Appearing Real
Your strong persuasion often made me sick
So I jumped the ship when I sensed a shift
Away from your tyrannical rule
Your harsh instruction has served us well
Taught us deeply the error of choosing to sell
The only thing we possess that’s Real
I do not harbor ill will or hate
For that old emotion is yours, too late
To stop the wave of Light that surges
The gig is up, my lessons learned
Your tutelage appreciated, graduation earned
Time now to get back Home
Fare thee well, I say, but no longer here
Some other school now is in need of Fear
To round out their curriculum
These living grounds have hosted enough
Your destruction and strife has really been tough
Our groundkeepers will be quite busy
Your time is done; we now choose our own ways
Your subtle influence no longer rules our days
A happier life shall be had by all!
Onwards and upwards we now climb, reborn
This time unshackled, truly free to soar
To ever greater Heights
Again, no bitterness stains my joy
I get that your purpose – and your nefarious ploys
Were all part of The Lesson Plan
So Good-Bye at last, have a nice safe trip
To your new employment, with your carrots and sticks
Time for us to grow up, be our own taskmasters
Someday we’ll catch up, you and I, in some far-off Matrix
I may be called in to help a batch of lost students
Find their way out of your maze
A degree is great, but only has worth
If applied in life, offered up to serve
Our Collective Soul, other Aspects
Till then, Old Friend, and Enemy Mine
We’ve both fulfilled our roles in the Plan Divine
I look forward to both our vacation times!!!
